Data Sourcing

The data on this website has been compiled from a number of sources, principally from the ospreys.co.uk website (now defunct) and then from the U.K. Osprey Information website which itself evolved from that site. It will be updated on an ongoing basis with data that has been put into the public domain about each bird.

These data sources include: official information published by Osprey projects; official posts by Osprey projects on public Facebook and other social media channels; other public posts, comments and photographs on social media such as Facebook, X and Instagram; live stream chats on video streaming; publicly available links to photographs and comments on websites and sightings databases. We endeavour only to publish data which is or should be considered public.

Whilst every effort is made to verify the data we publish and ensure its accuracy, and it is to the best of our knowledge correct at the time of upload, it is sourced and updated manually as part of a volunteer effort from multiple sources that may not always be consistent or accurate. Therefore it is inevitable that mistakes and errors may creep in from time to time, so please accept our apologies for any that may be found.
